Sultans of swing24 Oct 09

The second half of the big band bonanza was kicked off with the sultry tones of Stacey Solomon singing If You Wish Upon a Star.
The mum of one stood before the mic in full on glitzy glamour puss mode and once again delivered a heartfelt performance with her stunning voice, which always seems to magically lose the Essex twang as soon as the music kicks in.
“You look like a little princess,” said Cheryl, before a significant “but”: “It wasn’t the best I’ve heard you sing.”
Up next and hoping to match his highly praised performance last week was Danyl Johnson with crowd pleaser Feeling Good. The 27-year-old teacher once again delivered a performance which delighted the judges and had Simon ‘smug’ Cowell on his feet and Louis singing his praises: “You owned the stage… I think it was the most authentic performance of the night.”
With two outstanding performances under his belt the pressure was also on Joe as he took to the stage next. The Geordie went on to show there’s more to his repertoire than note perfect ballads as he swung his hips and smiled his way through the classic Sway.
“ I think you’ll be in this competition 'til the very end,” was Louis’ reaction to his performance.
“Whatever’s thrown at you, you just rise to the challenge,” agreed Simon before adding : “You’ve got about as much latin flair as a dolphin.” He just can’t help himself!
After impressing Simon with her bouncy performance in diva week, Lucie was back in safe territory with ballad My Funny Valentine. The Welsh lovely went on to showcase her immense vocal talent which went hand in hand with the grand scale of the live orchestra and had Cheryl completely won over: “Tonight you proved me wrong. That was stunning!”
Last and by no means least were dynamic duo John and Edward. As the twins burst on to the stage in a blur of pink and green, surrounded by bikini clad girls, it was soon clear that these boys meant business with their high energy version of She Bangs.
“You’re fast becoming my guilty pleasure,” admitted Cheryl. “Every week I can’t wait to see what you come out with next!”
With that corker the swingathon came to a close. So, you’ve seen all 10 remaining acts pull out all the stops to win your vote…. Which one will you pick? Find out how to vote here.
