Revealed! The X Factor charity single25 Oct 09

This year’s final 12 acts have recorded a cover of the Michael Jackson classic hit You Are Not Alone to raise vital funds for national charity Great Ormond Street Hospital, one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals dedicated to helping sick children get better.
After last year’s charity single raising over £1 million for Help For Heroes it’s hoped that the second single will share the same success and make a huge difference for the hospital whose key motto is : “The child, first and always.”
"We decided we wanted to do something annually on the show to help good causes,” commented Simon. “This year we chose to work with Great Ormond Street to help raise funds and awareness for their incredible work. I'm very proud of the single and I really hope it raises an enormous amount of money for people who really need our help"
The X Factor has been closely linked to Great Ormond Street for some time and the decision to choose them as this year’s charity follows an annual tradition of our winners visiting the hospital and some of the judges paying surprise visit to its patients.
The finalists will be performing the single for the first time during the results show on Sunday 15th November, when it will also be available for pre order. The single will be physically on sale from Monday 16th November… So put the date in your diaries!
And remember, no less than £1 from the sale of each single of You Are Not Alone will be donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, to support the work of the hospital.
